The Guadalajara Zoo is one of the biggest and most important zoos in Latin America. Located in the western of Mexico, opened to the public on March 25 1988. It has 50 hectares built next to the Huentitan Canyon. And has 280 hectares of protected natural reserve. Around 4,000 animals among mammals, birds, reptiles and aquatic animals from our aquarium live at the Guadalajara Zoo.
We have the largest primate collection in Mexico. And have been delighted with the presence of Gorillas since 1989. Chato, Checha, Faustina and Iyari have been the Gorillas that have lived here.
